Leaves
The Leaves module manages all employee time-off: annual leave, sick leave, personal days, and custom categories. Employees submit requests, managers approve/reject, and balances are tracked automatically.

Leave Balances
Every employee has a balance per category. Balances show total allowance, used days, and remaining days. Balances are displayed with progress bars in the team view.

Workflows
Leave Request Lifecycle
- Employee submits leave request with dates and type
- Manager receives email notification
- Manager reviews the request (checks calendar for conflicts)
- Manager approves or rejects with reason

- If rejected: employee can edit and resubmit
Best Practices
- Submit leave requests well in advance for planned time off
- Check the leave calendar before submitting to avoid team shortages
- Attach medical certificates or supporting docs when applicable
- Managers: review leave requests promptly (within 24 hours)
- Review leave balances at the start of each year to ensure allowances are correct
