Recentriq vs Dynamics 365 Business Central
If your company runs on Microsoft 365, Business Central has an advantage we cannot match.
Business Central's real argument is not its feature list, it is Excel, Outlook, Teams and Power BI. Posting a journal from Excel and reading a customer record inside Outlook are genuinely good, and if your finance team lives in those tools that integration is worth paying for. What you are paying is $80 per user per month for Essentials, before you add the users who only need to approve something.

Read this before you quote the number above. Business Central is usually bought through a Microsoft partner, and the licence is one line of the bill — implementation, data migration and per-user training are the others. Sales and Field Service are separate Dynamics 365 products, not part of Essentials or Premium.

The differences that actually decide it
Sixteen times the per-seat price, and the seats are graded.
Essentials is $80 per user per month. Recentriq is $5. Business Central answers this with the Team Members licence at $8 for people who only read and approve — a sensible design, and also an admission that a full seat is too expensive to hand to everyone. Recentriq has one kind of seat.
Customer conversations happen in a different product.
Business Central does not have a shared WhatsApp and Messenger inbox, and the CRM you would pair it with is Dynamics 365 Sales — another licence. Recentriq's inbox, pipeline and invoices are the same application and the same record.
It is a partner-led purchase.
Microsoft's own pricing page points you at a partner to buy. That is the right model for a complex ERP and it is a cost and a delay. Recentriq is self-serve: card, tenant, working.
Where Dynamics 365 Business Central is better than us
Every comparison page should have one of these. Here is ours.
- Excel, Outlook, Teams and Power BI integration that is native rather than an export button.
- Power Platform and AppSource — you can build round it with tooling your IT team may already know.
- Manufacturing and service management in Premium, which Recentriq does not have.
- Copilot is included in the licence rather than requiring you to bring an API key.
- A worldwide partner channel and Microsoft's compliance and certification posture.
Which one to buy
Choose Dynamics 365 Business Central if
Your finance team lives in Excel and Outlook, you already pay for Microsoft 365 E3 or E5, you manufacture or run field service, and you have a partner you trust.
Choose Recentriq if
The Microsoft integration is not the thing you are missing, and $80 a seat for everyone who touches the system is not a number that works at your size.
