Tasks
Tasks are the atomic units of work in Recentriq. Every task belongs to a project, is assigned to a team member, has a priority and due date, and moves through a clear workflow from Todo to Done.
Overview
The Tasks system provides granular work tracking within projects. Tasks support rich descriptions, file attachments, due dates, priorities, and submission workflows with review steps. They are visible on project boards and in the global Tasks view.
Getting Started
Navigate to Tasks in the sidebar for a global view of all your assigned tasks, or open a project and switch to the Board tab.
Creating a Task
- On a project board, click Add Task
- Enter the task title and description
- Assign to a team member
- Set priority (High/Medium/Low) and due date
- Click Create — the task appears in the Todo column
Core Concepts
Task Status Flow
Todo → In Progress → Review → Done. Each stage represents a clear state in the task lifecycle. Drag tasks between columns on the Kanban board to update their status.
Priorities
High (red) — Urgent, needs immediate attention. Medium (yellow) — Important but not urgent. Low (green) — Nice to have, can be deferred.
Submissions
When a task requires review, the assignee can submit work with file attachments and notes. The reviewer can approve (moves to Done) or request changes (moves back to In Progress).
Features
Global Task View
The Tasks link in the sidebar shows all tasks assigned to you across all projects. Filter by status, priority, or project.
Due Date Reminders
Automatic notifications are sent for upcoming and overdue tasks. Configure reminder preferences in Settings.
File Attachments
Attach files to tasks for review. Supports documents, images, and links. Files are stored securely in the tenantʼs storage.
Submission & Review
When work is complete, submit the task with deliverables attached. The reviewer can approve or request changes with comments.
Workflows
Daily Task Workflow
- Check the global Tasks view for your assignments

- Reviewer checks submitted work and approves or requests changes
Best Practices
- Break large work items into smaller, individual tasks
- Always set a due date — tasks without deadlines tend to linger
- Use the submission feature for work that needs sign-off
- Add relevant files and links to task descriptions for context
- Keep task titles specific and action-oriented
