Leads
The Leads module is the entry point of the CRM pipeline. It captures incoming inquiries, tracks qualification progress through a drag-and-drop Kanban board, supports CSV import/export, and converts qualified leads into clients and orders automatically.
Overview
The Leads module is where your sales pipeline begins. Every potential customer inquiry — whether from a web form, email, phone call, or chat — is captured as a lead. Leads progress through qualification stages on a Kanban board until they are won (auto-converted to client) or lost.
Getting Started
Navigate to Business → Leads in the sidebar. Youʼll see the CRM board with pipeline stage columns and summary stats cards.
Creating Your First Lead
- Click Add Lead
- Fill in company name, contact person, email, and phone
- Optionally set an estimated value and priority (Low/Medium/High)
- Add notes and tags for organization
- Click Save — the lead appears in the New column
Core Concepts
Pipeline Stages
Leads move through five stages on the Kanban board:
- New — Fresh inquiry, not yet contacted
- Contacting — Outreach in progress
- Qualified — Confirmed fit, budget, and interest
- Proposal — Quote or proposal sent to prospect
- Won — Deal closed, auto-converts to client
Lead Fields
Each lead stores: company name, contact person, email, phone, estimated value, pipeline stage, priority (Low/Medium/High), notes, and custom tags.
Features
Kanban Board View
Full drag-and-drop Kanban board with columns for each pipeline stage. Cards show company name, contact, value, priority badge (color-coded: High=red, Medium=yellow, Low=green), and creation date. Drag a card to another column to change its stage — changes are saved instantly.
List View
Toggle to a sortable table view showing all leads with columns: Company, Contact, Stage, Value, Priority. Click column headers to sort. Use this view for bulk review or when the pipeline has many leads.
Pipeline Stats
Summary cards at the top show: Total Active Leads, Pipeline Value (sum of all estimated values), Won Deals count, and High Priority count. These update in real-time as leads change stages.
Lead Actions
Each lead card has a dropdown with actions:
- Edit Details — Modify all lead fields including tags
- Push to Next Stage — One-click advancement to the next pipeline stage
- Send Email — Quick email to the lead (requires SMTP)
- Log Call — Record a phone call interaction
- Delete Lead — Remove the lead permanently
Auto-Conversion
When a lead is marked Won, the system automatically creates a client record from the leadʼs company, contact, and email. If a client with the same email already exists, the lead links to that existing client instead. An order is also generated.
CSV Import
Bulk import leads from a CSV file. Map your CSV columns to lead fields (company, contact name, email, phone, value, status, priority) during import. Review the preview before confirming.
Data Export
Export the leads list to CSV or Excel for reporting, external analysis, or backup.
Tags
Add custom tags to leads for organization and filtering. Tags are editable — add or remove from the edit dialog. Use tags for campaign tracking (e.g., "webinar-q1", "google-ads") or categorization.
Workflows
Standard Lead Qualification
- New lead arrives (manual entry or CSV import)
- Review lead details and assign priority based on fit
- Move to Contacting — reach out via email or call (log the interaction)
- Qualify: confirm budget, need, and timeline
- Move to Proposal — send quote or proposal
- Mark Won — system auto-creates client and order
- Or mark Lost with a reason note for pipeline analysis
Bulk Import Workflow
- Prepare CSV with columns: company, name, email, phone, value, status, priority
- Click Import and select the CSV file
- Map CSV columns to lead fields in the import dialog
- Review the preview to verify data
- Confirm import — leads appear on the board
Best Practices
- Always set estimated value — it powers pipeline value reporting and forecasting
- Use priority flags to help the sales team triage effectively
- Log calls and emails as you contact leads — they become the activity history after conversion
- Use tags for campaign or source tracking (e.g., "webinar-q1", "google-ads")
- Donʼt delete lost leads — mark them Lost and add a reason note for win/loss analysis
- Keep notes updated throughout the qualification process for context
